On Sunday 17 July, the Mayor and Mayoress of Whitworth, Councillor Dave Bradbury and Ms Angela Gerrard, will hold their Civic Sunday procession and service.
The proceedings will commence at 2.30pm with a short procession along Market Street in Whitworth, from the corner of Market Street and Tong Lane to the Riverside (Civic Hall). The procession will be led by the Whitworth Vale and Healey Brass Band and will feature members of the town’s uniformed organisations, other civic dignitaries, friends and family of the Mayor and Mayoress and members of the public.
A service will then take place at 3pm at the Riverside, led by Rev Father Frank Thorpe, Parish Priest of St Mary and St Anselm, in his capacity as Councillor Bradbury’s Mayoral Chaplain. Light refreshments will be served post-service.
