WELL, did you go?! Did you?!
Rossendale's 60's Festival was a success, hurray!
Not only did this three day event represent everything we love about the 1960s, it also showcased our beautiful valley to those living locally and visiting from afar.
Hundreds flocked to experience a microcosm of this iconic decade. The success of this festival was thanks to the large number of events taking place across Rossendale; all within close proximity to each other ensuring visitors travelled short distances in order to enjoy different acts.
As well as the Friday night launch at The Whitaker Museum, The Rossendale 60's Festival saw bands throughout the weekend play classic 1960's tunes, tributes to some of the decade's most famous bands as well as a number of local, unsigned acts performing their own hits.
The Hippie Market was full of retro-decorated stalls where visitors could pick up a few bargains and listen to the digital juke box, and Bacup had an art and craft market, as well as a classic car and bike show.
Rossobuses were driving across Rossendale and surrounding areas; dressed up in 1960's attire, which was created by local school children. The Whitaker also featured an exhibition showing more work from Rossendale's newest generation.
Scootfest attracted a massive 350 scooter fans, complete with their Lambrettas, Vespas and more.
And finally, congratulations to Oxfam, a local charity that won the shop front competition! Stores across Rossendale were encouraged to compete against each other and decorate their windows in sixties decoration - Oxfam was the winner, well done!
