There's a rare treat for lovers of contemporary British Art this month as The Rugby Collection - works collected by the council over almost 70 years including paintings, drawings, prints and film work - goes on display for its annual exhibition.

The rarity value comes from the size of the display which will show the entire collection of more than 170 pieces of art by renowned artists such as LS Lowry (on display in the collection is 'Monday Morning', featuring his trademark figures trudging to work at a factory) and Lucien Freud (The Fig Tree)

Only on display for a month until June 23rd 2012, you can see the collection at its home, The Rugby Art Gallery and Museum. This year is particularly special as it is the first time the entire collection has been on display at once.

One of the best municipal collections of art in the country, it is something not to be missed and is on show from Tuesday until Friday, 10am - 5pm and 10am - 4pm on Saturdays with free entry for all.
