The Big Lunch is a very simple idea from the Eden Project which is funded by the Big Lottery Fund.
The aim is to get as many people as possible across the whole of the UK to have lunch with their neighbours in a simple act of community, friendship and fun!
As announced by Buckingham Palace The Big Jubilee Lunch will be a part of the main programme of events over the central weekend of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Celebrations in June 2012 so there will be plenty of time for you to enjoy lunching in your community.
The beauty of The Big Lunch is that people themselves decide everything about their own event.
The venue can be wherever you want or have space, the theme whatever you fancy - food and people are the key ingredients.
Whether your event is a full blown street party in Rugby or simply a couple of neighbours enjoying each others' company, The Big Lunch is a great way to bring your neighbourhood together.
