Did you know that up to 1 million children in the UK currently have an undetected vision problem?

When children are at school, they are reading, writing and developing their senses every day, and their  eyesight is an intrinsic factor in how they learn and process new information. Many people forget or assume that because their children are young, their eyesight is completely fine. This is not always the case.

Poor eyesight can have a significant effect on children’s ability to learn and on their behaviour – yet it often goes unrecognised by teachers, parents and by children themselves.

Halsey & Creery Opticians in Rugby is supporting the research conducted by The Association of Optometrists (AOP), by encouraging parents to include a sight test in their ‘back to school’ routine this summer. This will ensure that their child’s vision is not forgotten about.

The AOP, as part of the Optical Confederation, is continuing its efforts to reach parents, teachers and health professionals by highlighting the importance of children’s eye health.

So when you go to get the rest of the back to school kit such as pencil cases, shoes and coats, don’t forget to include that all important eye test!

Halsey & Creery welcomes children of all ages and believes that getting eye care right from an early age will prevent problems developing in later life.

At Halsey & Creery Opticians in Rugby, you can feel relaxed, as you are in the hands of professionals with 25 years' experience in the business who offer that very important personal touch.
