Half term is on its way, so here are a few ideas of what you can do with the kids in Rugby

The Jubilee weekend is approaching, and all eyes are on these celebrations as well as the torch relays which are passing through the country ahead of the Olympic Games, and will reach Rugby on 2nd July.

But remember that when the Jubilee festivities are over, it’s half term, so you’re going to need to find things to entertain the kids.

Here at thebestof Rugby, we have dug up a few hints and ideas to keep your and those little devils (sorry, angels!) amused over the half term holidays.

Saturday 2nd June sees the Crick Boat Show and Waterways Festival, which lasts for four days as a part of the regions Jubilee celebrations.

And thebestof Rugby is offering you the chance to win a free family ticket as long as you enter before this Monday 28 May 2012; please click HERE for more details.

Some people may think about using the week off to get away from it all, but with the weather we’ve been having, why go abroad when you can enjoy life here at home.

With local activities such as horse riding at Withybrook Equestrian Centre, 10-pin bowling at the Superbowl, or just going out somewhere for a good old fashioned pub lunch at a family friendly local pub like The Pheasant, there’s plenty to keep everyone entertained for the week off school.

And if the weather stays as warm as it currently is (fingers crossed!) there are plenty of places to visit in the Rugby area:

  • Draycote Water Country Park
  • Newnham Paddox Art Park
  • Ryton Gardens
  • Coombe Country Park
