Rugby School student Harry Maxwell was described by Lord Alan Sugar as ‘the unluckiest contestant in the show’s history’ after he was eventually fired in the seventh of eight episodes.

Harry is the first ever contestant to finish on the losing side every week in the BBC's Young Apprentice, but his business acumen had clearly caught the eye of Lord Sugar and his advisors Karen Brady and Nick Hewer, as he was spared the dreaded ‘You’re Fired’ until the semi-final show.

It was eventually a task to sell popcorn that ended Harry's dream; despite his team's popcorn doing well, their competitors secured a huge order to single handedly win the challenge. And with four candidates to be ‘fired’ in one go, it was always going to be tough to make it to the final.

But he was back the following week as the two finalists took on a challenge to create an online game and an advert to promote it – assisted by all the previously fired contestants.

And it was here that Harry finally tasted victory in front of the 4.3million viewers. He joined what would eventually be the winning team, assisting Zara Brownless on their ‘Piggy Panic’ game to the final prize of a £25,000 investment from Lord Sugar himself.

Whilst Harry didn’t quite make the final, he can still draw plenty of encouragement from the positive words from Lord Sugar that he has a bright future ahead of him.

Harry himself was unbowed by the defeat, saying after the show: "In terms of my intellect, self-motivation, confidence, and business instinct for my age, I am unrivalled. I have a pure entrepreneurial gift waiting to be unleashed and harnessed."
