Ladies’ Fancy Dress Charity Pancake Race – Tuesday, 8 March 2011
Once again, Rugby Rokeby Lions are approaching local individuals, groups and companies in an endeavour to maintain the tradition of a Pancake Race in Rugby and also to invite any ladies to take part in this our annual fancy dress event, which is a strictly fun event to help raise funds for deserving causes in and around the Rugby area.
Apart from their own Lions’ Charities, this year’s designated recipients will be the Registered Charities of Rugby Crossroads Care & Rugby Guideposts.
Rugby Crossroads Care aims are to support carers, adults and children with disabilities, mental ill-health or are elderly or frail, to enable them to remain living in their own homes as independently as possible whilst supported by skilled, trained staff to help both the carer and the cared for.
Guideposts Rugby was formed to respond to the very great needs of local people with mental health problems; learning disabilities; children with special needs; older people with Alzheimer’s and other forms of Dementia. Their aims are to help people improve their mental health, in others to come to terms with disability and live more independent lives, seeking to reduce social exclusion and isolation and to promote equal opportunities, wellbeing and quality of life.
