Council Tax in Rugby Borough is frozen for the third year in succession!
Local MP Mark Pawsey has spoken out after Councillors at Rugby Borough Council set the budget for 2012/13 in a meeting last Thursday, 23rd February 2012. Average Council Tax levels are to be frozen for a third consecutive year in spite of a cut in the funding that the council will receive from the Government.
Mark said:
“I am delighted that Conservative led Rugby Borough Council has been able to announce that they will not be raising Council tax for the third year in a row. It’s clear that they are doing an excellent job of making improvements to services whilst cutting costs for residents, and I am sure that this will be welcomed by the people of Rugby.”
He continued:
“Rugby residents will be pleased that a careful calculation of finances has resulted in no increase, despite the announcement of clear plans for funding for improvements over the coming year.”
