Bank Holiday Weekend Celebrations

Rugby Town Centre and Caldecott Park
More details of events happening in Rugby Town Centre over the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Celebrations over the Bank Holiday Weekend.
Rugby Theatre will join the Diamond Jubilee celebrations for Queen Elizabeth II by playing a key part in the parade through Rugby town centre on 2nd June 2012.
The theatre has been an important part of the town since 1949 and is one of the top ten amateur theatres in Britain.
And now the theatre has taken the opportunity to recreate Her Majesty the Queen's Coronation procession into Westimster Abbey - albeit without the horses and carriages.
Sue Henry, Head of Wardrobe, took up the challenge at the end of last year and has been examining souvenir books and other memorabilia to recreate the outfits of the royal family along with attending Bishops, Lords and other key members of the procession.
Sue said:
"We've managed to persuade some of the non-acting members of the theatre to take part, so look out for people who usually support other key functions at the theatre, such as front of house, wardrobe, stage crew and scenery. We've got a lot of people here who want to take part in this historical event."
After taking part in the town's Jubilee parade, theatre members will be helping to man a stand in Caldecott Park. The make-up department will be offering face painting while other theatre members will be on-hand to talk to anyone who may be interested in joining the theatre.Tickets for theatre shows will also be on sale.
