More than 250 people packed into the Benn Hall in Rugby this week to celebrate the 2010 Rugby Business Awards.
The awards, which featured guest speakers, Barry Williams and TV impressionist Kevin Connelly, have become an important date in the Rugby business calendar, with many firms across the town contesting for the prestigious awards.
The Best of Rugby’s very own Oxygen Graphics scooped titles in two important categories, winning Business Newcomer of the year and coming 2nd place in the important Business of the Year category.
Oxygen Graphics, based on Albert Street in Rugby, scooped the two awards following a year of success upon success.
Offering specialist web design, graphic design and printing services to both domestic and commercial customers around Rugby, Oxygen Graphics deservedly took pride of place at the awards, which praise both business excellence and entrepreneurial spirit.
The winners of the awards are judged on several challenging criteria, including clarity of business plans, achievement of stated objectives and a positive commitment to the local community.
Ed Buckley, is the managing director of TekBroker, who won last year's Business of the Year award. He explained how the win had exposed his business to new customers: "Since winning, we have found new clients have been contacting us and orders have increased from local companies wanting our services.
"It is a great award to win and just looking around at the businesses that we were competing against, we realised how tough it was and therefore how amazing it was to have beaten such great entrepreneurial talent and take the award."
