The Young Apprentice is in full swing on BBC1, and there is a local lad involved, and amongst the favourites to go on and win.
However, 16 year old Harry Maxwell came close to leaving last week as he was dragged into the boardroom by that week’s team leader, Lewis, who laid most of the blame of losing the task at the feet of the Rugby School pupil.
The task, to design a baby product, had seen them creating a bottle warmer shaped like a cartoon hippo, but the other side had beaten them with more sales.
But Harry managed to stay the course, leading Lord Sugar to fire another member of the team, Ben Fowler, leaving Harry to fight another day.
Having avoided the boardroom in the first task to sell ice cream, Harry had a near miss the following week as he was brought back into the boardroom as his team lost out in a flower selling task by just £12 – despite Harry’s solo effort resulting in a late, big sale.
Again, Harry fought his corner and Hannah, the team leader, was left to regret bringing Harry into the boardroom as she was the one to hear the dreaded catchphrase of Lord Sugar, ‘You're Fired’.
The fourth task of the series will see the contestants selecting a product to appeal to the over 50s, and then sell them direct to the public.
Harry is competing to win a £25,000 investment and earned his place in the show by showing his advanced entrepreneurial skills. Despite his young age, he has already started three businesses as well as running a hotel directory – all whilst studying for his A-levels at Rugby School.
If you want to see how the youngster, who lives in Brixworth when he is not boarding at Rugby School, is getting on, then tune in to BBC1 on Monday at 9.00pm or see the candidates on line here.
