Rugby Borough Council have introduced FREE weekend parking at the Council owned, Newbold Road Car Park. The scheme will operate from 1st April and be trialled for a three month period in an effort to support town centre businesses in the difficult economic climate.
Aftab Gaffar, Rugby First Operations Director, said:
“I’m absolutely delighted with Rugby Borough Council’s plan to run this three month trial. It’s tough out there and initiatives like this will help businesses, and make a real difference to the town centre economy in these challenging times.”
Sean Lawson, Head of Environmental Services at Rugby Borough Council, said:
“We appreciate it is very difficult out there for local business owners and their customers at the moment. By introducing the three month trial we hope people will take advantage of the free car parking, save money on fuel by shopping local and support their town centre at the same time.”
For further information on the trial scheme please call Aftab Gaffar, Operations Director at Rugby First on 01788 569 436 or email: aftab@rugbybid.co.uk
Here at thebestof Rugby we welcome the trial scheme helping local businesses and also encouraging more visitors to Rugby Town Centre.
