"I am personally very proud to be able to work with over 100 exciting staff and volunteers. Their commitment and enthusiasm is truly inspirational."
The words of new station manager, Paul Barber who hopes to lead Salford City Radio into a bright new era after taking charge in March 2013.
Paul comes with a wealth of experience in project management, drama teaching and 6 years working for Cheshire West and Chester council prior to his appointment, making him an ideal person to continue to help continue the growth of the station.
Paul comes to the station, 6 years after it won its first FM licence and is planning for a bright future ahead with a clear focus for Salford City Radio.
"My aim is to be a positive addition to the existing set-up by supporting evolution and sustainability in the years ahead".
The new station manager has already made several positive steps including the formation of a new management team, a fresh intake of volunteers in a wide variety of roles and an improved schedule.
New to the already impressive line-up is the station's first ever live breakfast show, the addition of the Jewish Hour after 21 years broadcasting at the BBC and many other brand new shows making Salford City Radio's output more diverse than ever before. Above all, Paul wishes to continue with Salford City Radio's contribution to the city and the important role it plays in the local community.
"In recent years, Community Radio really has proved itself to be a valuable asset to any local area in view of creating opportunities and offering news, information and entertainment to residents. I will be looking to build on the achievements of Salford City Radio to date as it continues to contribute towards the city's social agenda".
Here's to the bright future and special connection between Salford and it's local community radio station - 94.FM Salford City Radio!
