Welcome to this blog. It's all a bit strange for me really, as I'm not used to "blogging" but there again that fits quite well with the subject of this blog.
HOPE is a banner that churches across UK and in Sheffield have chosen for 2008 to explore new ways of getting involved in our local communities. You may already have seen HOPE in action on community days called HOPE on the streets, most recently in Langsett at the start of May. In June HOPE on the Streets will move to Burngreave & Pitsmoor, and on 2nd August it will be Hillsborough and Wisewoods turn.
But HOPE is about more than just one off events, its about trying to put Church back into the communities there are part of. Its about people in those churches moving out beyond the walls, and no longer seeing church as a building or some kind of private members club, its about taking hope into the world ..... HOPE is for everyone!
As I continue the blog I will tell you about some of the projects that local churches in the Hillsborough and Sheffield 6 networks are involved in.
