A relative of mine chose to have her wedding at Albright Hussey Manor. What an exceptional venue for the event and the associated stay was most enjoyable.
The staff here are very professional, efficient and friendly. Check in was easy and my room was clean, well equipped with lots of wardrobe space, a supremely comfortable mattress and a large bath.
The little treats and room niceties such as a bowl of sweets, hot chocolate along with the tea and coffee tray and some very pleasant shower gel and shampoo to use in the very strong power shower.
Breakfast I always believe to make or break an hotel stay. Albright Hussey did the right things by me. Plenty of different juice and cereal choices, a danish selection and yogurts various. For the traditionalists a buffet style full English was available but for me the smoked haddock with a couple of poached eggs is the best way to start a day. A rack of toast appeared and with relief the waitress brought me some sachets of marmite, however you do seem to have to ask for it but full marks for having it available.
A great wedding party, a very good night's sleep and then a hearty breakfast made for a perfect weekend. Highly recommended!

Welcoming polite, attentive staff without being intrusive allowing you to relax. Surroundings are calm and serene both internal and external. Excellent chefs which reflects in the high culinary standard delivered across a broad menu. The owner Paul is often working in the background indicating his personal investment and commitment to delivering quality. He has chosen his staff well as I have witnessed little change over this period, none more so than the engaging and consummate professional by the name of Malcom who pulls the whole operation together whilst adding the personal touch that makes you feel special. He is without doubt an expert in customer relations and probably one of the many reasons that people return. In addition the bar manager Javier who has a skill set which is second to none especially his knowledge of wine, cheese and local produce. I strongly recommend this venue.

From start to finish a great stay! Very welcoming and friendly, beautiful grounds and setting, great breakfast (no problems catering for a vegetarian), perfect shower and immaculately clean room. It's also extremely good value.

Nice to find a hotel of this quality that is independently owned. It's how hotels should be with an individual/personal touch. If you don't like soulless chain hotels then this hotel is perfect. Not that far from park and ride and easily accessible.

Dog Friendly:
The most dog friendly hotel i have visited. As dogs were (understandably) not allowed in the public dining area, they set a table up for us in a private dining area so our collie could join us. We were waited on hand and foot and the food was very tasty.
The manager even gave us a big blanket for the dog and made a fuss of her as did the other staff.
The Staff:
A lovely welcome from the manager and the receptionist. All the staff were very welcoming infact from start to finish, they couldn't do enough for you. Was even offered a free room upgrade on arrival.
Breakfast:
Very nice and plentyful. I had the continental that consisted of: Cereals, alsorted fresh meats and cheeses, pastries, toast, jams and my coffee topped up without having to ask. The spanish waiter was very professional and friendly.
The grounds:
Amazing. loved the entrance up the long country driveway. Great location to take my dog out for walks as we were surrounded by fields. Great location for weddings as the gardens were immaculate were a large patio area with beautiful views and they even had a large outside bar. There were lovely streams and ponds around the grounds filled with wildlife including beautiful white swans and ducks etc.
Rooms:
Lovely room. very clean, large and modern. Tea making facilities and TV. Very comfortable bed and very quiet in the evening.
Location:
Great for feeling you are in the middle of countryside however short drive from shops, restaurants etc. My husband was at the RAF Shrawbury so the hotel made a good base to be near him.

Stayed at this lovely hotel for 3 nights this week on business,I was greeted by the general manager Malcolm .on arrival at 9.30 pm whom immediately said ,let's get you a drink and some dinner, the staff at this hotel are friendly courteous and very professional, the food at the hotel was very nice and cooked to order ,breakfast was freshly made and tasty, from the outset every member of the Albright team from the general manager to the chamber maid ,took time to chat to me and made my stay very enjoyable,so different from the wooden non interactive staff at the hiltons and holiday inns I normally stay in,the rooms are also very comfortable, nice comfy bed ,although the sinks are a bit to big for the bathroom ,minor moan.all in all a great team of professional staff whom seem to enjoy their work , and a lovely touch was a sherry at reception, thanks again to al at the Albright hussey hotel for making my stay most enjoyable.

Just like to say the biggest thank you to the Albright team for making our wedding on 7th July truly amazing! During the run up to the big day everyone kept commenting that me and my husband were so relaxed however we knew we had the perfect venue and everything would run smooth due to the hard work and attention to detail from Paul and his truly amazing team. The venue is absolutely stunning and the food is gorgeous and of extremely high standard. We have visited on various occasions outside of the wedding day to eat in the restaurant and every time the food has been amazing! Absolutely fallen in love with the Albright Hussey and the amazing team for which nothing is ever too much trouble. Thank you again and can't wait to book our next trip back! :-) recommend to everyone!

I stayed with friends using the hotel as a base for an event off site. From the time spent at the hotel i can only say that i wish i'd stayed longer. The staff obviously work exceptionally hard yet the service from all staff was phenomenal (Particularly Malcolm, General Manager). Rooms were well kept and the breakfast was plentiful and tasty. From what i saw of the grounds it is a stunning venue - i hope that the weather stayed dry for the wedding party that was also resident. Very well priced and would not hesitate to stay again.

Had a fantastic day at the wedding, food was great, staff were ok, venue is stunning.

One irritation!

You are in the middle of nowhere so forget 4G or even 3G on your phone. I asked a member of staff if they could help with the code and it was... are you staying here? I replied no, but I am here for the day as part of the wedding party...

Her reply was my hand are tied I cant give it out...

Very unhelpful for a family that spent thousands of pounds on a wedding, it was a slight irritation.

I ended up getting the code of a wedding guest...

Hands tied....

Erm...

Poor response

We stayed for a romantic week end. Location is good - just off the ring road. We ate in the hotel on first night, and both breakfasts - staff were lovely and the food was excellent! The restaurant is in the old original part of the manor - just lovely! The rooms, however, were in the modern extension - small but acceptable. Could do with a bit of care and attention - the mirror is crooked, the shower leaks. Bed firm but comfy. Pillows too soft. Problem came later with a prom dinner on the first night, and wedding reception on the second. All the smokers tend to congregate outside the front door under our room - smoke not a problem but the noise is. Suggest asking for a room in the old part of the manor? And do take ear plugs!

Albright Hussey Manor is an attractive period hotel with lovely views and walks near by. It is a pet friendly hotel, so perfect for those weekend getaways with the dogs, however if your dog is getting on in years as ours and finds stairs a problem, there are no lifts to the upper floors.

The staff were really helpful and friendly, food was good and the room clean and comfortable.

Looking for a romantic evening, a celebration or relaxing break then consider this hotel. The evocative and cosy restaurant offers interesting and well prepared dishes (cheese board, sea bass and steak were outstanding) served by attentive yet not intrusive staff. Bedroom 16 was small but perfectly adequate (some special rooms in the main house) I particularly appreciated the power shower and large wardrobe.
Special mention has to go to the staff who dealt with everything with a smile, patience and a can do attitude. Thanks one and all.

Went here for a family wedding and as far as the hotel's contribution to affairs was concerned it was all good. They seemed to be able to keep the wedding party and other guests apart which was good for both groups.

The food was of very good quality for our wedding breakfast and the morning breakfast was pretty good too.

The building is worth a visit although I didn't see any lifts so better check if you have walking difficulties.

Very popular with our visiting foreign cousins and it's easy to see why.

The Venue itself is a spectacular backdrop for a wedding. We were blessed with a beautiful sunny day so the ceremony was outside but inside also looks lovely.
The staff are really great at making the day go without a hitch and responded to every question or request very quickly. The food is outstanding, the rooms in the main building are very old and are amazing. The rooms in the new bit are still very nice.
We used all of the services recommended by the hotel and cannot fault any of them.
The photographers were great, Disco was good and fireworks were a really nice touch that no one expected.
All in all a fantastic day made that little more special by Malcolm and his team. Mel and Dave who looked after us all day need a special mention too, if i could name all the staff individually I would.
I have noticed a couple of bad or mediocre reviews on here, we had a large percentage of the hotel booked on the Friday and Saturday and everyone I spoke to said what a fantastic place Albright Hussey was.
It is more expensive than budget hotels but it is on a different level completely.
Thank you for making our very special day go without a hitch.
Andy.

We stayed for two nights on the 22nd and 23rd May in the Hussey suite and everything about our stay was absolutely perfect. The room was amazing - uneven creaky floorboards, wonderful carved post bed and we felt as though we had stepped back in time. The spa bath was a more modern addition but has to be seen to appreciate it's size. The food was beyond reproach and the barman kept us amused. We were thoroughly rested and relaxed after our short stay. Also we had the added bonus of having breakfast in our room on the second day and were able to watch Escape To the Country being filmed in the garden from our beautiful antiquated window. The receptionist was really helpful and amusing and all in all we couldn't have asked for a better holiday.

Classy place and geared up for weddings etc but rooms overpriced. Nice touches like homemadebiscuits in room but they didn't really taste of anything. Noisy at night but I suppose unavoidable as everything is so close together. Get the impression that costs are being saved house wine £19.50 but not great quality etc.

Nice little hotel we stayed at whilst at a wedding here. Excellent function room and bar area. Breakfast was also very good. If you're at a function here it is ideal. Room was clean and of a good standard. Very good size bathroom. Easily missed from the main road so keep an eye out

Just spent a weekend break here. Lovely place. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Felt very welcome. Ate on restaurant for evening meal and breakfast and found a good selection of food which was beautifully cooked and presented. Although there was a wedding at the hotel we were not inconvenienced in any way. A good experience..

A very nice wedding venue, on the whole, great attentive staff who make things go so smoothly and really take the pressure off, looking after even the smallest details.

One small issue is that the family room where most people would choose to stay with younger children is right above the function room and toilets. It is a lovely room, in really a suite, not a room and has everything you would want when travelling with the family, but the noise levels are very high, if there is a function on downstairs. (I measured levels at 48db average with a 58db peak in the bedroom) Please do not let this put you off booking this venue just be aware that the family room is very noisy and you may wish to pick a different room if travelling with small children.

We stayed in the Hussey suite for a couple of nights. It was well appointed and full of character. The floor is slightly uneven and there is a step up to the en suite which didn't bother us. We ate in the restaurant both nights and the food was perfectly cooked. The service was great. The was a wedding in the other part of the hotel but we didn't hear it. Would recommend.

We have just spent two nights back at Albright Hussey in the old part of building which we love. It is 20 years since we last stayed with our young son. It is lovely to see the same family running this hotel and we remember on our first visit for lunch being shown around the bedrooms around 25 years ago before they were even open. I would always recommend the old part of the house to stay through choice. We had two evening meals, in the beautiful dining room which we much enjoyed. We won't leave it so long next time. It was extremely relaxing. Thank you.
