Mort has worked wonders with our naughty doggies in just one session - he's amazing!! He talks you through everything step by step and explains the reasons behind every movement/command with the dog. Was very interesting to learn so much and looking forward to putting it all into practise over the next few weeks. Thank you, Mort!!

Mort gave us great background information regarding the dog psyche and how dogs operate in packs giving a good insight in to the pack mentality which has been very helpful with training. We really didn't know where to start with our new puppy as our older dog came to us at 9 months' old. Mort spent 2 hours with us for the first couple of appointments and started off with some basic training. He helped us to give her confidence on the lead for the first time and was always on the end of the phone for help and advice if needed. He's taught us good recall training skills which we still work on with our puppy who is now 6 months' old. Mort gave us several handouts for reference which we could refer to with regards to all aspects of his training. I have recommended him to several friends who have asked my opinion. Even though the puppy training course ended, we know that we can contact Mort for advice and guidance at any time. Lovely, patient man who clearly loves dogs.

After getting a very lively Cocker Spaniel puppy, I was recommended Mort Smith Dog Training and Behaviour.
I found Mort extremely professional, very approachable and highly knowledgeable about every technique and every dog related issue out there! Not only did he work with my dog, but he also worked with myself and my family on how to handle and train him. Mort trained beginning and advance obedience, and also helped to guide us through other dog issues such as behaviour, vet references, etc. Following sessions, Mort provided individualised written guidance notes which we found easy to follow and has helped to reinforce training between sessions, and thereafter. We still contact Mort for guidance from time to time and he is always happy to help and advise.Mort is highly experienced, passionate, reliable and professional in his approach. I could not recommend him highly enough!

Thank you so much Mort, for all your training support. I hated taking my dogs out in public because of the chaos they caused. Now I'm in complete control and look forward to my daily training sessions with them. You've made it so easy and practical to follow and my house is so much calmer. I no longer have to worry about visitors being jumped all over and my dogs are far more relaxed. The training line is now ordered so I now look forward to running round the countryside with my whistle and new found confidence. IF YOU'RE IN NEED OF A DOG TRAINER, LOOK NO FURTHER! MORT IS FANTASTIC! WORTH EVERY SINGLE PENNY!!

A very big thanks to Mort for his help and advice with our Springer Spaniel Daisy. Daisy is almost 9 and very much set in her ways, with the frustrating habit of dragging you down the road whilst she's on the lead. We've tried various leads, head and chest harnesses over the years with limited success, but within 15 minutes of Mort's training we had her walking calmly without any pulling. Mort also taught us how to get Daisy to wait patiently by the front door, allowing us to walk out first, rather than her pushing everyone out of the way in her excitement to get out and get going. Truly an unbelievable change in her, with simple, straight forward tips from Mort that are easy to remember and follow. I would definitely recommend Mort as he's friendly, very knowledgable and great at explaining the psychology of how dogs think and behave so that we can tune in with them and help them behave better.

Sorry it taken a while mort xx mort came to visit my girl Lara GSD. We had a few teething problems with her such as walking to heal, recall when off the lead, jumping up at people when they came to visit. Taking morts advice and working with him payed off she's as good as gold now. I wouldn't go to anyone else if I ever had a problem with her in the future. Mort is kind and caring and treats dogs with great respect and love, I would recommend him to anyone with a problem no matter how old your dog he will be there to help. Lara grew to love him and looked forward to his visits I know she will always welcome him.

Our household is definitely a happier one since Mort came to visit us. We are now able to walk our rescue Border Collie, Bonnie, with confidence. Thanks to Mort's clear advice and guidance, we now feel we have the tools to be able to deal with Bonnie's aggression towards other dogs and people. Walking her used to be a chore - we would take her out at ridiculous times, always eager to avoid other dog-walkers and the subsequent embarrassment and frustration when she lunged and growled at them, creating quite a scene! We've got a lot of work to do, it will take time and patience, but at least now, thanks to Mort, we feel more in control of our dog and no longer dread taking her for walks! Thank you, Mort - we can't wait to see you again in the near future!

Mort was really friendly and professional and helped us find solutions that worked for us and our dog (A 16 month old border collie). Using the techniques shown by Mort has helped improve our dogs behaviour and I'm sure if we continue to work at them we can get rid of the unwanted behaviour and brave letting her off the lead! Mort also pointed out all the good things we had already been doing with our dog, which is always nice to hear. We had worked with other trainers but none showed the passion and knowledge that Mort had. We would highly recommend his services to anyone out there!!

I would recommend Mort to anyone who is having problems training their dog. Our dog objected to my grandson visiting and would knock him to the floor (albeit just to play as Maisie is 9 months old and grandson two and a half) the tips we were given were so easy and effective and we now have a peaceful household (who would have thought a washing up bottle would solve our problem!) This also works withother visitors if she gets over excited too. The recall is coming on well also. Many thanks to Mort for introducing us to easy and successful training techniques.

This is dog / owner training at its best. Mort doesn't simply teach you how to train your dog, he trains you to understand the dog and it's thinking behind the behaviour. From that foundation he builds on techniques that are appropriate for you and the problems you are experiencing. We had two visits, and the difference it has made to our enjoyment of dog ownership is almost immeasurable. We now have a Border that is a pleasure to walk, and is learning how to greet visitors to our house with all four paws firmly on the ground. Other behaviour issues quickly dealt with were the dog's excitement, and his desire always to be the first in or out of doors / gates etc. I really cannot recommend Mort highly enough. The only downside is that I won't be able to refer to Benjy as 'The Loon' for much longer!!

At our wits end with our German Shepherd dog puppy (I've had them all my life but never one like this!) I rang Mort. He spent a morning with me and Manny putting into practise immediately his method. I don't know who was more worn out when he left - me or the dog - but armed with his advice and plan, we now have a much happier dog and calmer household! I'm not saying it was easy - you have to follow it through and keep it up but it is so worth it. On his follow-up visit a few weeks later, Mort tweaked the training a bit and we did recall off the lead. I was so proud of Manny when he did it. Thank you, Mort - we would recommend you to anyone who needs help with a challenging dog.

We started using Mort late autumn 2011 for our 2 large male dogs. After 3 visits his work was done and I cannot praise him enough. We have used other 'Experts' before but never seemed to get anywhere. Mort is fantastic, the way he is with the dogs, his explanations of their behaviour and ours is simple and easy to understand. He knows what he is talking about and passes on his expertise with ease. His constant encouragement and patience is brilliant. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find him, maybe you can hire the A-Team - Mort Smith :)

Mort has brilliant people skills as well as dog skills. When he came to our house (twice) the first visit was spent explaining "dog" to us so that we understood our rescue Rottweiler's behaviours.

We'd only had her about four weeks when he visited us but by two weeks after his second visit we'd let our dog off the lead and she was coming to the whistle with no problems.

As she is only 14 months she still has a lot of puppy traits and he has taught us how to manage them and to know what is acceptable behaviour and what isn't.

Dog walkers and people we visit comment on what a relaxed and well behaved animal she is. Considering we're first-time dog owners, and that our dog is a rescue, and that Rottweiler's are a very headstrong breed, Mort has helped us train a boisterous and rebellious dog into being a lovely family pet.

We've still got work to do but the information leaflets he left with us are helping and we know that we can ring for advice any time.

Thanks, Mort!

We had put two years' hard work into training our young labrador but still wondered if she would ever learn to come back reliably when off the lead. An independent, confident and strong-willed dog, we were anxious that we would lose her or that she would run into the road. Mort has worked with us over the last few months to build a really successful recall method. He excels at interpreting the dog's behaviour and has really built our confidence in handling our dog. We would recommend him to anyone.

We have 2 amazing dogs (dobermans). The bitch is a rescue; at first her issues weren't prevalent but as time wore on we were really struggling.... She lashes out, barking, and going nuts when she sees another dog (particularly terriers). Fear based and she's never bitten but being the breed they are you can imagine how unpopular we became in the neighbourhood! Resorting to walking the dogs at ridiculous times to avoid any one at all costs.

AND MORT TO THE RESCUE! A three-hour session with Mort and we have the tools to cope. After only a couple of days implementing what we've learned, our dogs are even more of a pleasure. Yesterday we walked passed 3 jack russells who were yapping terribly and she didn't even flinch (despite what she was probably thinking). Shoe is on the other foot as the passer by was rather embarrassed at her unruly dogs. It felt great and now I go out looking for other dogs to walk past!

THANK YOU, MORT, this is one happy pack! Referrals - yes, without hesitation.

We adopted Molly (a border collie x springer spaniel) from a rescue centre. She was then 3 and a half and did not even have the basics such as sit & stay. We took her basic training as far as we could but found we could not manage to get her to walk properly on a lead, pass other dogs without her wanting to ‘go for them’ or re-call reliably. She was not sufficiently well mannered to attend regular dog training classes, so the last resort for us was going to be residential (Dog Borstal type) training. Fortunately before we got as far as arranging this we happened to find Mort Smith’s Web Site and gave him a call. Mort has been a godsend. He teaches you to be able to train your dog in a very natural way that the dog can understand and respond to. The training is fun both for you and your dog. There is absolutely no harshness involved whatsoever. After just 3 sessions Molly can walk nicely on her lead and pass other dogs, so enabling us to go to public places without fear or embarrassment. We are currently working on her recall and she is responding very well. So to anyone in a similar desperate situation I would advise you not to waste money on expensive dog training manuals or instruction DVDs etc but give Mort a call. His rates are very reasonable and he really does deliver.

I was at the end of my tether with my German Shepphard Ozzie when I read mort's testimonials and thought l would give him a go. The results after just one session with Mort were astounding. We still have a way to go - Ozzie is still frightened of cars but doesn't pull on the lead anymore, so walking him now is a pleasure. I can highly recommend Mort, as he himself states he doesn't have all the answers but will work around the problem and find a different angle to come from to try to find a solution that works for both you and your dog.

It is a pleasure being trained by Mort to train our dogs, Nell and Tess (Sprockers). If you want results quickly, fun and value for money, Mort is your man. He puts the joy back in to dog ownership.

Mort came highly recommended and with good reason. He has helped us and our rescue dog AJ to master the basics; Mort spent time to talk through the logic behind the techniques we used, which helped us to understand and use them more effectivly.

When we first got AJ we thought perhaps we had bitten off more than we could chew, but thanks to Mort's help we have made lots of progress and are now able to confidently take him places we would have never thought possible.

Mort is very friendly and professional, and we looked forward to our training sessions.

Thanks, Mort!!
