The Law Society’s annual Excellence Awards were recently held in London and Shropshire law firm Lanyon Bowdler was once again recognised for their commitment to the environment; they were awarded ‘Highly Commended’ in the Legal Sector Alliance Award for Excellence in Environmental Responsibility.
After collecting the certificate, Lanyon Bowdler managing partner David Battisby said, “It is great to be recognised by our profession, the competition was tough and we were pitched against firms that fall within the top 50 in the country, to come away with this certificate is quite a triumph.”
One comment from the judging panel stated, “Lanyon Bowdler's environmental strategy is an excellent model for smaller firms, demonstrating significant impact without the resource of larger organisations. The firm focuses on key issues and drives change through robust oversight, performance management and employee engagement.”
Lanyon Bowdler has shown how practical, simple initiatives - such as segregating waste and the economic use of printers - can make a significant environmental difference. The Shropshire law firm reached Gold status in E4Environment’s Green Achiever Scheme earlier in 2010.
