Fashion students from Shrewsbury College are preparing to showcase their creative talents during their annual summer fashion show as part of the college’s Arts & Skills festival.
The students will exhibit their collection pieces to large audiences during three, hour-long catwalk shows at Shrewsbury’s creative arts centre, The Hive, later this month.
Shows are open to the public on Wednesday, 24 June, at 6pm and 8pm, tickets cost £7.50 (£5 concessions) and can be purchased from The Hive, on 01743 234970. There will be an additional free show at 1pm for schools, for more information please contact Shrewsbury College on 01743 342346.
First year Level 3 Fashion student, Lauren Taylor, 16, from Telford, said: “I’m really looking forward to the show. We’ve been working on our pieces for a while now, it’s been challenging but fun. I can’t wait for people to see what we’ve created - I’m making a dress with an underwater theme, embellished with pearls and shells”
Sasha O’Connell, Fashion lecturer at the College said: “We are extremely proud of all of our students, who have produced some fantastic pieces, a testament to their hard work and determination. We would encourage members of the public to come along to the show, which is always a fun and exciting event.
“The College is continuing to grow local talent and an impressive alumni in Fashion, with students gaining places at prestigious universities, some gaining exciting employment with international companies and several continuing onto our own HND Fashion and Textiles course.”
