Our hair is such an important part of our appearance, we spend time & money on it so let's correct some old myths.

Far too much false information is put out there, mostly online, and we need to debunk these myths.

Let's get started...

#1 CUTTING HAIR FREQUENTLY MAKES IT GROW FASTER

This is not the case. Frequent hair cuts maintain the condition of your hair keeping it healthy & disposing of split ends. Your actual hair growth is genetic, and hormonal & to do with your overall health.

#2 BRUSHING YOUR HAIR 100 TIMES A DAY MAKES IT HEALTHIER

Ummmm....NO. Excessive brushing can actually lead to damage, you could get breakage, split ends & even hair loss. A few brushes a day will be sufficient.

#3 YOU SHOULD WASH YOUR HAIR EVERY DAY

Absolutely not, daily washing will strip your hair of its natural oils, especially if you are not using a good professional shampoo & conditioner. Try every other day or even every few days. Remember that over-stimulating by massage will encourage your scalp to produce more oil.

#4 COLOURING YOUR HAIR IS DAMAGING

Modern-day dyes are generally safe & will not cause damage if used correctly. Some hair dye products will actually improve or enhance your hair's condition. Consult with your expert professional stylist to help decide what is best used for the integrity of your hair.

#5 BLOWDRYING YOUR HAIR IS BAD FOR IT

Yes, if done badly or incorrectly. Use a heat protector spray to minimise damage. Use a lower heat setting on your dryer. Do not overheat in one area at a time, keep your dryer moving over & down the hair shaft.
