The General Election result is good for business and has boosted consumer confidence, says a Shropshire business leader.
Tony Bywater, a Shropshire business ambassador and chairman of Shrewsbury-based caravan dealership Salop Leisure, has noticed an upsurge in consumer confidence since the election and is predicting a successful year for the award-winning company.
“We found before the election that many people were reluctant to make decisions about investments in touring caravans, motorhomes and caravan holiday homes because of the uncertainty about the result and its possible impact on the economy,” he said.
“Since the election, a lot of these people have come in and made a purchase. The public confidence generated by the election result is having a dramatic impact on our business.
“Whatever one’s political beliefs, there is no doubt that the election has brought stability to the economy. All we need now is good weather for a second summer and everything will be set for a very successful 2015 for the company.”
