Kev Williams, based in Shrewsbury, set up Discounted Bikes - Shropshire a year ago to help parents buy affordable bikes in the run-up to Christmas.
The venture was so successful that he decided to keep the business as a permanent fixture, and his wife Michelle joined the business full-time.
“We want to support parents to get out and about with their kids,” said Kev. “Recent reports show that only 47% of UK children meet the recommended physical activity guidelines of 60 minutes daily and that one in five children in England are overweight or obese by the age of 5. We want to help families to get active by providing bikes for all ages at affordable prices.
“We’re also going to partner with bike training schemes, bike hire clubs and with school PTA’s to support as many parents as possible in getting kids riding bikes again.
“After selling out last Christmas, it was obvious that local families valued our mission to get kids out in the fresh air riding bikes. We have been overwhelmed with the positive feedback, and we’re thrilled to be rated ‘excellent’ on Trustpilot. It’s not just bikes, we have lots of accessories and helmets which also make for a great gift this Christmas.”
To further help parents and carers afford bikes this Christmas, Kev has introduced a Christmas Club and Clearpay payment options to spread out the payment with 0% interest.
Discounted Bikes offers free delivery locally and nationally. There is a 30 day return period on unused bikes and most manufacturers offer a lifetime warranty period, plus you can try before you buy and they will store your bike until collection day
