The Shrewsbury Club is throwing open its doors this weekend to stage a special charity event to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
To launch their brand new Les Mills group fitness classes, the club, on Sundorne Road, are holding a Les Mills and Zumbathon event on Sunday.
Renowned Les Mills sessions
The renowned Les Mills sessions will take place from 10am through to noon and will then be followed by the Zumbathon in the afternoon.
"It will be open to members and non-members," said Rob Hall, the health and fitness manager at The Shrewsbury Club. "All we ask is for a charitable minimum donation of £5 to attend two out of the three Les Mills classes, or £10 to attend the three-hour long Zumbathon.
"We've booked out our tennis courts because we suspect, if the last event we held is any indication, there will be a lot of people keen to take part.
"A leading Les Mills brand presenter, Dave Cross, who helps choreograph releases for GRIT, BodyCombat and CX-Worx, will be joining us to teach three classes in the morning.
Free goodies and prize draw
"There will also be some free goodies and a prize draw while there will be stalls, entertainment in the afternoon, as well as other attractions to raise more money for charity."
The Shrewsbury Club is a leading health and fitness club which offers a huge range of fitness classes as well as excellent facilities.
They include aerobics/spin studios, a large gymnasium with the latest Technogym equipment and Wellness Key system, a 20m swimming pool complete with sauna and steam room, indoor and outdoor tennis courts, a beauty spa and a restaurant.
Professional women's tennis event
The club last week successfully staged a professional women's tennis tournament, the Aegon GB Pro-Series event, which featured some of the rising stars of the European game.
