Two Shropshire women have joined the team at MyWorkwear, one of the region’s most respected workwear clothing manufacturers and suppliers, based in Telford.
Emily Palin, aged 18, from Shrewsbury, has been appointed as Trainee Cutter and Designer, having successfully completed her Extended Diploma in Fashion Level 3 course at Shrewsbury College. Emily will be working with our customers to design and quote bespoke workwear clothing for a variety of industries such as vets, nursing, car washes and our specially designed anti-static uniforms to electronic manufacturers.
Sarah Killeen, Fashion Lecturer at Shrewsbury College, said: “This is a great opportunity for Emily. It has been a pleasure to teach Emily on the Fashion and Clothing course. She has excellent communication and people skills and I am sure she will thrive in a trainee position at My Workwear. We are so thrilled that she will be able to use the skills developed on this course in local employment.”
Banjong Wilderspin, aged 38, from Shrewsbury, will join the manufacturing team as a machinist having also completed her Extended Diploma in Art & Design Fashion Level 3 at Shrewsbury College. She will work part time whilst continuing her studies on a HNC Fashion & Textiles course at Shrewsbury College.
Managing Director James Worthington said: “We’re experiencing a renewed interest for UK manufactured clothing and our bespoke workwear and we need to keep up with this demand.
“We are succeeding by focusing on stability and growth, so I am delighted to welcome Emily and Banjong on-board as part of our expansion strategy.”
MyWorkwear boasts an impressive customer list throughout the West Midlands and the UK including local companies Maxell, Telford and Wrekin Council, Ironbridge Gorge and RAF Cosford.
