Staff at a popular Shrewsbury specialist plants centre, which has increased sales and footfall by 30 per cent in the first four months of this year, have been congratulated for their success.
Tony Bywater, chairman of Love Plants, which is based at caravan and motorhome dealership Salop Leisure’s Emstrey headquarters in Shrewsbury, described the results as an “outstanding achievement”.
“I want to congratulate manager Tim Robinson and his team at Love Plants on having an absolutely unbelievable first four months of this year,” he said. “They really believe in what they do and are reaping the rewards for spending time advising people on the best plants for their gardens.
“I am constantly receiving feedback from people who have been recommended to visit Love Plants because of the exceptional customer service provided by our staff.
“Love Plants have taken onboard the Salop Leisure ethos and the success of both businesses is down to the staff that we employ.”
Mr Robinson said despite being in its fifth year, Love Plants was still attracting new customers who seemed to like the selection of quality and unusual plants stocked by the centre and the knowledgeable staff.
He believes that centre has one of the biggest selections of unusual perennials in the area. Examples include Acanthus Tasmanian Angel, also known Bear’s Britches, Adenophora Gaudi Violet, Agapanthus ‘Indigo Dreams’, Amarine Belladiva, Astilboides tabularis, Hibiscus ‘Planet Tangri’, Scilla peruviana, Sisyrinchium Stripey and Veronia spicata ‘Red Fox’.
Staff also offer a service to source plants that are not in stock, which often involves a lot of research work but is appreciated by customers.
