This weekend’s Shropshire Handmade and Vintage Summer Fair hosted by Shrewsbury-based caravan, motorhome and campervan dealership Salop Leisure has attracted more than 40 stalls.

The popular annual event, organised by Carrie Hughes, owner of Shropshire Handmade and Vintage, is being held on Saturday and Sunday, July 8 and 9, from 10am to 4pm each day.

The stalls will be selling a wide range of unique handmade and vintage craft and giftware from Shropshire and the bordering counties, as the fair is set to fill Salop Leisure’s showroom. Entry and parking are free.

“It’s the third time we have held the summer craft fair at Salop Leisure and each year I ensure that there is a mixture of regular and new traders attending,” said Carrie. “It’s good for visitors to see some different things every year.

“All the traders are small Shropshire businesses and some of them only trade at my events. These people have created and made products themselves with passion, love and attention to details.

“Customers can buy something unique and they will get a personalised service from people who know their products like nobody else.”

In addition to the craft fair, visitors will have a chance to see the latest touring caravans, motorhomes, campervans and caravan holiday homes and lodges at Salop Leisure.

The popular specialist plants centre, Love Plants and Love Coffee restaurant will also be welcoming visitors over the weekend.

Tony Bywater, Salop Leisure’s chairman, said the summer craft fair was an excellent example of Shropshire companies working together to boost business and he hoped to beat last year’s record of 3,000 visitors over the weekend.
