A Shrewsbury care company has enjoyed an influx of new care staff over the last three months helping to look after more clients and in a more efficient manner.
Bluebird Care, based in Bayston Hill Shrewsbury, but also covering Church Stretton, Oswestry and the surrounding areas, provides care to those who need help but wish to stay living as independently as possible in their own homes.
It has taken on 31 new staff in the last three months and is holding training sessions every three weeks. The three days of intensive training go above and beyond the legal requirement for care staff and is more thorough including how to administer medication and moving and handling including using hoisting and other equipment.
Director of Bluebird Care, Ian Barnes, said: "We are raising the standards of care here at Bluebird Care Shropshire.
"We hold full three day training sessions every three weeks across each of our geographical locations making it easy for our new staff to get to and give them the best start in this profession with us. We also ensure they all pass the DBS checks (disclosure and barring, formerly CRB checks).
"We are excited to be taking on so many new staff and are doing it in order to provide a great level and commitment the care we offer and also in order to look after all our new clients.
"We also have installed a new IT system to enable us to provide greater continuity of care with the same carer visiting each client wherever possible to help build up relationships between both parties."ÂÂ
Carers at Bluebird Care, visit clients from as little as 15 minutes a week for a security check up to 24/7 live in care 365 days a year.
