Hope House Hospice raked in £6,451 from donations by visitors to Shrewsbury Folk Festival and the organisers who make a donation for every adult weekend ticket sold.
The cash is used to fund music therapy sessions for children with life limiting illnesses.
The festival, which takes places over four days during the August Bank Holiday weekend at the West Mid Showground, has raised more than £27,000 over the past five years. It receives support from visitors from across Shropshire and the UK.
Donations and collections
Organisers donated £4,000 and a bucket collection outside the main music marquees raised £1,404. Donations from the hospice stall at the festival collected £523 and payments for mobile phone charging amounted to £524.
Festival Director Alan Surtees said he was delighted with the ongoing support of festivalgoers.
"We have a wonderful four days of music every year and I’m glad that we able to help children with life limiting illnesses enjoy music too through our support," he said.
Wonderful work
"This year we introduced a mobile phone charging service and decided to donate the profits to Hope House which proved very popular. We are always looking at ways we can support Hope House and the wonderful work it does," he added.
Hope House Fundraising Manager Vanessa Thomas said: "Music is a huge part of life at Hope House and benefits the children in many forms, from sessions with our music therapist, to singing along to favourite tunes; from toddlers banging drums to teenagers laying down tracks. Music brings pleasure to everyone and is a lovely way for children to make themselves heard.
"We're really pleased to be a continuing part of the festival and want to thank everyone who has supported us with a donation."
