£1000 raised from Shrewsbury Severnside Lions Scooter Club’s (SLSC) 3rd annual Fun Day has been donated to The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic and District Hospital.

Attended by enthusiasts from throughout the West Midlands and North Wales, the Fun Day took place on July 10th. It started with a fully marshalled mass ride-in, where approximately 350 scooters set off from the Shrewsbury Business Park, travelled around the outskirts of Shrewsbury and through the town centre to The Red Barn pub, Longden Road, where the Fun Day was held.

Other attractions included a custom scooter show, stalls for parts, club merchandise and vintage clothes, a BBQ, ice creams, bouncy castle and music from Northern Soul DJ Russ Reeves.

Ali Lee, spokesperson for SLSC, one of the biggest scooter clubs in the region with over 60 members, said: “Our friends from other scooter clubs combined with our local following meant there was a massive turn out this year. It was a great day and we would like to thank everyone for their support, including the stall holders, the local businesses which donated prizes for the raffle and auction, Rick, Teresa and the staff at The Red Barn pub.”
