One of the county’s most respected funeral directors is making plans to enhance its head office after recently receiving planning permission to expand its facilities.

Aubrey Kirkham Funeral Directors has actively been looking for ways to further develop its offer to clients across the region and has welcomed recently-secured planning consent which will allow it to make a number of enhancements to its head office in Shrewsbury. 

The existing site, based on Frankwell near Shrewsbury’s town centre, will see development works undertaken to incorporate an additional Family Discussion Room, a larger Chapel of Rest, dedicated facilities for medical professionals, as well as newly-introduced client accommodation.

Aubrey Kirkham, Founder and Director, explained: “For a while now we’ve been eager to do what we can to make the experience of visiting a funeral directors less daunting and more comforting for our clients, so this recent planning approval to make such enhancements is really welcoming news.

“We are based in a town centre location which certainly has its advantages, but we also understand that it can be a struggle during busy periods to get through traffic and access car parking, which is why we’ll be introducing a larger dedicated parking area to make the journey less stressful, in addition to on-street parking and with a bus stop located directly outside the office entrance,” he added.

The firm’s investment in client care doesn’t end with the expansion of its main office, as it has expanded its range of fleet, introducing a brand new Jaguar XJ Hearse and a Classic Rolls Royce Hearse, as well as recently purchasing a new Jaguar Funeral Family Limousine, and adding a Bentley Mulsanne ‘S’  to follow behind the Classic Rolls Royce.
