During this economic downturn, MP for Shrewsbury Daniel Kawczynski has been inundated with local businesses who are struggling to keep afloat as credit has dried up and people's spending becomes more stringent. Daniel commented, 'I am hearing from many businesses in Shrewsbury every day that are telling me of the dire situation that they are currently facing.'

Small and medium sized businesses are amongst the worst hit by the recession, with each day forcing many of them to cease trading. Daniel has been working closely with the Shropshire Chamber of Commerce throughout this time, advising them of the difficulties that Shrewsbury businesses have approached him with but also being told of the help and advice that is being made available to them.

The Chamber of Commerce is currently distributing information recently released by the Government on a summary of the help available for businesses. Government assistance on offer to small businesses can be researched by visiting www.businesslink.gov.uk/realhelp or by calling 08450 600 9006.

Daniel went on further to state: 'I will be constantly asking the Government and the Secretaries of State for Business and Work and Pensions on what improvements they have in helping small businesses like the ones in my constituency, as currently, the help they are offering is not enough. I would urge anyone that has a business in Shrewsbury or the wider Shropshire area to exhaust every avenue of what little help is available to them.'
