Shropshire caravan and motorhome business Salop Leisure has no intention of resting on its laurels after recently winning the coveted UK Caravan Dealer of the Year award from Practical Caravan magazine for the second time in three years.
The company, which has been in business for 49 years and employs 140 people at sales centres in Shrewsbury, Machynlleth and Stourport-on-Severn, has announced major investment in upgrading its Emstrey headquarters to ensure that it continues to lead the way in in the caravan industry.
The showroom has been cleared, the floor resealed and the whole premises redecorated, new carpets fitted in all sales offices, Love Coffee restaurant has been restyled and the public toilets are being upgraded.
“Salop Leisure has always been renowned for quality but we must endeavor to move forward all the time and that’s why we are updating premises,” said chairman Tony Bywater.
“We cannot stand still, even though the quality of our premises is very good. We need to ensure that we remain the best in the industry. We host a Shropshire Council tourist information centre at our headquarters, so it’s vital that our own customers and tourists have a high quality experience when they visit us.”
Salop Leisure, which moved its headquarters to Emstrey, alongside Shrewsbury bypass in 2006, enjoyed its most successful year for a decade in 2014 and is predicting an even busier new year.
The company is a one stop shop for customers, who are able to buy, service, repair and store their caravans and motorhomes in Shrewsbury.
The Emstrey headquarters houses Love Coffee restaurant and Love Plants, a specialist plants centre and on site facilities include secure caravan and motorhome storage and a small touring and camping site for the use of customers.
