Weston Park will come alive with magic, potions, pumpkins and creepy critters this October half-term.

The stately home, on the Shropshire/Staffordshire border, has lined up three days of Halloween Horror activities from October 29 to October 31.

The estate’s magnificent, four-acre Walled Garden will be transformed into a Haunted Hollow complete with pumpkin patch, animal encounters and creepy critter shows from Zoolabs.

Educating Kids Outdoors will also be bringing a touch of magic to the hollow with lots of exciting activities.

Visitors attending the Halloween Horror days will be able to pick their own pumpkin, pose for some special

photographs with pumpkins carved by the fabulous Weston gardeners and have a go at carving their own pumpkin.

Animal-encounter experts, Zoolabs, will be returning to the estate with its Creepy Critters show giving youngsters the chance to get up close with a host of small animals and creepy crawlies.

And if that’s not enough, visitors will also be able to create their own bubbling magic potions and have a go at making their own magic wand with the help of the team from Educating Kids Outdoors.

Potion making will involve running through Weston’s historic orchard to find the ingredients and then mixing them together to create a magical brew.

For three days only, students from Telford College along with Weston Park volunteers, will be transforming the House into a ‘Spooky House’. Visitors are invited to take a look at the library of potions and spells and see the spooky tales come to life.

Jennifer Astbury, Head of Estate Operations at Weston Park, said: “Our Halloween Horrors is jam-packed with exciting Halloween and autumn-themed activities to get involved in. There’s something for everyone.

“The whole estate will also be open so youngsters can have all the fun they like in the Woodland Adventure Playground, adults can enjoy autumn walks through Temple Wood and everyone can have lots of adventures across the estate. It's going to be a super few days.’’

The Halloween Horror activities will culminate in the annual Bonfire and Fireworks Night on November 3 – with two dazzling firework displays, one of the region’s biggest bonfires, a magical fun fair and mouth-watering street food.
