Very enjoyable relaxing atmosphere the volunteers are great and explain how things work. The restuarant is small but everything is freshly made and it's a lot which comes.

We obviously heard about this place because of the TV series, so though we'd check it out. To be fair we didn't have high expectations and those expectations were spot on. There's not a great deal to see or do really. Not sure if we just went on a quiet day (mid week in early may), so we didn't stay for that long. You can spend 2 or 3 hrs here, if you stop for some lunch in the old schoolhouse (which does some nice food, but is a little pricey... Tourist pricing rather than comparable to the area). The staff are friendly and knowledgeable (sorry, you won't see any TV stars working there).. and if you're lucky they may be feeding the lambs or ducklings/chics. We got to feed a lamb and hold some of the chics and ducklings, and in one of the cottages they had a couple in Victorian clothing making some kind of pancakes that farm workers often took with them.. they were generous with the samples too. 😀

What a fantastic place! Visited with toddlers who absolutely loved the little travelling homes you can climb in to. We had a lovely time making felt soaps with Su and looking for fairy doors. Will hopefully visit again.

If you love history & farm animals (like I do !) then this is the place for you ! Give yourself 3 hours for a nice walk round & a bit of cake in the cafe 👍 there's plenty of demonstrations throughout the day & folk dressed in authentic gear to fill you in on the history & details of a period working farm 😊
