As a walking group,we have often started walks from the Discovery Centre. The knowledge that we can return for a well deserved cup of tea & cake is a good incentive to to visit the Centre afterwards.
There are a good range of walks starting from here with well written leaflets to guide you on a good choice of walks of varying length.
Having also sampled the Sunday lunches, I can thoroughly recommend booking a table for the treat as a reasonably priced lunch with enough choices to suit everyone.

We dropped in for a Sunday lunch to see what was on offer.
Limited choice with regard to the traditional lunch and it was a late lunch so we opted for the Fish and Chips.
The fish batter was crisp and the chips too were crispy and soft centre.
Well priced and quickly served.

Had lunch here as the nearby pub seemed more of a bar than a restaurant. Very good value, fairly friendly service, though the tables could have been cleared quicker

We always enjoy the Discovery Centre, we take the children walking and they can bring along scooters etc. Good for buggies too. The shop is lovely as well as the cafe. We also like to visit the pub next door called 'Stokesay Inn' for lunch as easier to keep the kids under control and away from all the lovely displays just waiting to be knocked over at the Discovery Centre!

Very friendly and helpful staff. Pleasant cafe with a wide variety on offer from full meals to coffee and cake. The film presentation of the county of Shropshire was stunning and well worth seeing.

Called in here on Thursday on our way to Oswestry.
What a treat. Amazing place once inside, it's like a tardis.
Free entry and car park. You only pay to see the exhibition.
Shop full of wonderful, quality products.
Had lunch in the café. Courgette and leek soup with seeded bread was delicious. The hot meal choices looked lovely too, so may try one next time.
Paid £5 each to see the exhibition which was very interesting but so much to see would like to see it again as we had a time schedule to be in Oswestry.
Would also like to come back when the weather improves to walk the Onny Meadows.
Called in again for tea and cake on Friday on our way home from Oswestry. Again lovely food and a very welcome cup of tea and Chocolate and orange cake.
This is a wonderful place that you could spend all day at if you wished and it's great for people of all ages.
Will be back soon I hope.

We visited around lunchtime and there was nice food available and comfy chairs to sit in, plus free walling in the valley behind. You could spend a bit of money as there was a well-stocked and interesting 'toy' area and the Mammoth Educational display area cost £5 - 6 to visit

We started and finished our walk at Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre. The cafe was lovely. Very friendly staff, lovely local food. All the cakes looked amazing and the Shropshire cream tea made with all local produce sounded devine. We were pleased to find the Dairy Dreams ice cream was served there as it is one of our favourite ice cream brands. Would definitely recommend a visit to the cafe after a walk in the Shropshire Hills. There are boot brushes and boot covers on the way in in case you get as muddy as we did.

A great centre to visit with kids or seniors, good entertainment for kids but a great café for seniors and a very good place to walk the dog. Good shop with plenty of interesting items to buy.
