The dedication and hard work of both staff and volunteers at Slough's Herschel Park has officially been recognised as it won an environmental award from Slough and District Civic Society.
A framed certificate and an engraved crystal glass plaque were presented by former Mayor Cllr Sukhjit Dhaliwal after a huge effort was made to return the park back to it's Victorian glory.
Tony Down, Management Officer for Herschel Park, said: "We're very proud to receive this award in recognition of all the dedication and hard work that has gone into the park and still does. Since it was first re-opened after its restoration, the park has gone from strength to strength and is used by so many people. There are always events going on and it's wonderful to see the park being used so much."
Monica Wilsch and Tony Down represented SBC and attended the presentation. Many volunteers helped to restore the park and all their names were put into hat. Carolyn Carty was the lucky volunteer whose name was chosen to receive the award at the presentation.
