Don't let the Solihull's Round Table Fireworks fizzle out

As we come to the end of this year's summer we can look forward to Autumn and a great family favourite is a fabulous firework display on Bonfire night.

Solihull Round Table has organised the ever popular fireworks display for the past 35years, it has become a Solihull tradition.  Whilst we all have a great time the Round Table also raise much needed funds for charities in the borough.   Sadly, this year the display, which will cost about £15,000 to run, is in jeopardy as the current sponsorship agreement has come to an end.

The Solihull Round Table have put out a plea to local businesses both small and large for donations and have put together a number of sponsorship packages.  Event organiser Karl Thorpe has said "The event offers a wonderful opportunity for businesses to support the community and demonstrate Corporate Social Responsibility if they have an existing progroamme, or if they don't have one yet".

If they can raise the sponsorship then the traditional entrance fee will be scrapped and the event will be free.   The charity push this year is the Round Table Children's Wish which has been set up to identify and grant wishes for local children who have life-threatening illnesses.

When I contacted Karl recently he said "it would be such a shame to have to cancel this event as it has been running for so long" also it raises vital funds for the community.

Can you help?  Do you want to help continue a Solihull tradition? Sponsorship starts from as little as £100 - for further information please contact Karl Thorpe at Solihull Round Table, solihullrtfireworks@yahoo.com mobile 07879 466385.
