Are you eating the right thing at the right time?
Most western diets are kind of upside down compared to where we want them to be nutritionally, especially when it comes to trying to lose weight or fuel yourself for exercise and long days at work. We tend to take the majority of our food late in the evening when we least need it (and often is rich and heavy) This can lead to excess stores of calories rolled over, let alone disturbed sleep patterns, bloasting and IBS! If your eating late, stick to lean meat, salads, fish and vegetables, avoid heavy carbohydrates in the form of pasta, bread and potatoes.
It isn't just the food in the evening, we often choose to skip breakfast for convenience or an extra snooze, but this has an adverse effect causing lethargy and slowing down your metabolic rate, and therefore slowing down the amount of energy we utilise and free up for our bodies to function. Listen to those old wives tails "Breakfast is the most important meal of the day". It doesn't have to come as soon as you wake up, and doesn’t necessarily mean eating a big breakfast in one sitting, but making sure you get a good balance and range of foods in early. This is even more important if you are going to train early and late in the day!
oh...don't forget to hydrate either!
