Following a presentation I heard last week I’ve been considering how small businesses such as builders and trades people can win more business without being pushy. At this time builders and trades people need to win business without having to further reduce profit margins. We all want a fair deal whether we are buying or selling. At the best of Solihull we promote recommended local businesses so when our members quote for business they can already use customer testimonials from our site which is a great way to demonstrate that they are professionals. Now I don’t believe in pushy sales but I do strongly believe in building good customer relationships so when I was speaking to one of our best of Solihull business members recently I suggested that they follow up their quotations in a different way. The company concerned are very professional and have the added advantage of being good communicators and friendly approachable people. Since they have discussed the quotations in detail by phone or in person they have won more business. Just goes to show that you can be proactive in business without being too pushy.
