The Breast Cancer Awareness Month, marked in countries across the world every October, helps to increase attention and support for the awareness, early detection and treatment as well as palliative care of this disease. Breast cancer is by far the most common cancer in women worldwide, both in the developed and developing countries.

Each year nearly 55,000 people are diagnosed with Breast Cancer in the UK. This is the equivalent of one person every 10 minutes. Although the number of people diagnosed is increasing, the survival rates are improving.

During Breast Cancer Awareness Month the aim is to get as many people as possible involved in raising awareness and funds for breast cancer research.

One way people are getting involved to raise funds is to Wear it Pink! Join hundreds of thousands of people and wear pink this year across the UK and help raise as much money as possible for vital breast cancer research.

In the local area Sipsey Lingerie  is joining forces with Emma J Steven's Salon and Ladies Fighting Breast Cancer (LFBC) to raise wareness and funds for Breast Cancer. During the whole of October Sipsey Lingerie are taking in old bras in their bra bank located in the store in Solihull. At the end of the month they will weigh the bra bank and all money will go towards LFBC. The bras will be donated to the women in Africa. You can also support LFBC by buying their merchandise at Sipsey Lingerie.
