Parks in and around Solihull

2010 was a great year for Solihull as we welcomed our awards of 7 green flags for our Parks in the local area.

Awarded by Keep Britain Tidy, the flags are regarded as Gold Standard for public spaces that are welcoming, safe and well maintained. The awards are a great encouragement to aspiring to excellence in recreational green areas.

Make the most of our local area and enjoy the 'Great British Outdoors' at one of our most recommended Parks.

 

 


 

Malvern and Brueton Park

Location; Solihull - Off New Road (Malvern) and Warwick Road (Brueton)Malver and Brueton Park are two parks in one.

Malvern Park area has direct access from the town centre (shopping area) and offers a wonderful display throughout the year of floral arrangements. Brueton Park boastes a local nature reserve, lake, a grove of mature trees, floral trail and a childrens Play Space.

With a car park, Play area, tennis courts, lake, refreshments, toilets, and many events, this is a great family choice.

 

Knowle Park

Location; village of Knowle (5 miles south of Solihull) - Off Longsdon Road (cars) and Lodge Road (pedestrians). 5 minute walk from the village centre.

As a venue for an annual music event, this parks attracts local and visitors alike with it's range of facilities including;

Car Park, Lake, Events, Play area, tennis courts, Local Nature Reserve, Gardens, 5 a side football area, pleanty of seating to enjoy the open space.

 

Elmdon Park

Location; Solihull, Off Tanhouse Farm Road or Damson Park Way.

It's is unique within Solihull with a hilly landscape providing views across the Midlands. 

The park includes a perimeter walk as well as the popular heritage trail, local nature reserve. Along side the historic nature of the park this is a popular choice for a family day out with it's facilities;

Football pitches, tennis courts, play area, lake, stream, walking trails, local nature and events.

 

Shirley Park

Location; Shirley, Stratford Road, Huris Road. A secret garden in the heart of the shopping area.

An ideal spot for a family picnic with a variety of activitied to keep everyone happy;

Car parking, Pitch and Putt, Play area, tennis courts, bowling green, skate park, foorball pitch, rugby pitch, gardens and events.

 

Lavender Hall Park

Location; 6 miles south of Solihull centre, Balsall Common Village. Car access off Lavender Hall Road.

Hosting many annual events, including a Kite flying festival and many nature walks. as one of the newest parks to the borough it has the latest skate boarding equipment and large open space for football activities.

 

Dorridge Park

Location; Off Arden Road, Dorridge

Ancient woodlands, nature, wildflowers, providng the town with a real country feel and some of the facilities include;

Local Nature Reserve, play area, football pich, car parking spots.

 

Meriden Park 

Location; Chelmsley Wood, Moorend Avenue.

With a network of good paths, between a lake and stream it links the community. It's part of the Kingfisher Country Park North Solihull.

Family orientated facilities, with the boroughs first adventure playground.
