Mega Christmas winner unveiled
Lucky Carole Gibelli feels like all her Christmases have come at once.
She won the free draw for the ultimate Southend Town Centre shopping experience worth £1000.
This was the fabulous prize offered by Southend Town Centre Partnership, during its action-packed season of Christmas-on-Sea events.
Competitors had to count how many animated Gingerbread Men featured in the Royals Shopping Centre Christmas display, and Carole’s correct answer of six was the first one picked out of the hat.
She said: “I can’t believe it – it’s so lovely. We celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary next year, and I’ll turn 60 next year too, so this prize is really the early beginning of a wonderful year.”
Carole, 59, of Leigh, entered the contest when she came to the Christmas Spectacular lights switch-on in November, with a friend and two god-children.
Dawn Jeakings, who chairs Southend Town Centre Partnership said: “We are so pleased that Carole won this great prize and can enjoy spending the vouchers in Southend’s High Street.
Southend-on-Sea Borough Council’s Deputy Leader, Councillor John Lamb said: “Congratulations to Carole for winning this terrific prize, with gifts from businesses across the town – a real partnership present.”
Carole won a host of gifts, vouchers for a variety of shops and meals, hampers, show tickets, goodie bags, Pier train ride tickets, the opportunity to tour Southend Radio and to join Martin and Su on the Breakfast Show at the Heart Studios, and much, much more.
