The countdown is on for Southend Youth Council’ terrific cycling event in Priory Park on Saturday 29th September, aimed at young people aged 11-19.
Called ‘On your Bike’, this initiative launched by Southend Youth Mayor, Zeeshan Mitha, is to promote the benefits of cycling and encourage young people to cycle more.
The event, held in partnership with Cycle Southend, runs from 11am till 1:30pm in Priory Park, Victoria Avenue, Southend.
Everyone who attends will have the chance to get their bike tagged for free, to have free bike checks, to try out the challenging North Shore track and take part in a bike ride around the borough.
Cakes have been kindly donated by the Fabulous Bakin’ Boys!
To participate in the bike ride, all participants under 16 must have had a consent form completed by a parent or guardian, which must be brought on the day.
Under 16's must wear a helmet. Consent forms are available to download from the Connexions website, http://www.southend-connexions.co.uk/sos-youth-council
Riders under 11 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Don’t forget to bring your bike!
