Hotel at heart of new sports centre
A new 100 bedroom hotel could form the centrepiece of ambitious proposals to create a centre of sporting excellence in Southend.
The plans unveiled by Southend Council include the hotel, six all weather football pitches, and a new cricket centre at Garon Park off Eastern Ave, Southend.
The new facilities would sit alongside the current leisure centre, the new £13.5million Olympic diving centre and the Garon Park golf course.
