We've decided to do this CRAZY challenge primarily because we think the work that Havens & Little Havens Hospices do is amazing!!
We'll be running in the dark, through mud, in the middle of winter for a distance of 10k on the 17th November to raise money for Havens Hospices.
Havens Hospices, Essex, incorporates Fair Havens Hospice and Little Havens Children’s Hospice. They provide respite breaks, symptom control and end-of-life care for adults and children living with life-limiting illnesses or conditions.They aim to make their journey - and that of their family - as comfortable as possible, creating special memories along the way.
Thankfully I have not had to experience directly the fantastic support they give to people in our community BUT thats no reason not to raise money for them is it? If all of my friends/family/colleagues just made a small contribution we could collectively make a massive difference to the everyday lives of local people.
As is Havens motto "Making every day count", you only have to give up 1 takeaway to sponser me, I have given up 10 weeks of my time to train for this run, if you only had a few weeks left to live wouldn't you want someone to do that for you?
