Resurfacing and repair works – Prittlewell Chase
Temporary road closures will come into force next week to enable resurfacing and repair works in Prittlewell Chase, Southend.
Starting from Tuesday 8th May the westbound carriageway of Prittlewell Chase between the junctions with Hobleythick Lane and Westbourne Grove will be closed overnight to through traffic from Monday to Friday.
The closures, which will operate between the hours of 7pm and 6am and include the intersections with Eastbourne Grove, Cardigan Avenue and Springfield Drive, are to enable resurfacing works.
Only ambulances and buses will be able to use the westbound carriageway during these times.
The eastbound carriageway will also be closed during the same periods to allow for repair works to the joints in the concrete slabs.
Rolling lane closures will be operated on this carriageway to enable traffic to continue flowing at all times.
Signed diversions will be in place during the closures and access for residents will be maintained where possible.
The closures are necessary in the interests of road safety for both members of the public and the workforce.
It is anticipated that the works will be completed by Sunday 27th May and contractors will endeavour to have the noisiest elements of the work completed by midnight each day.
Southend-on-Sea Borough Council would like to apologise to any residents for any inconvenience caused by the temporary road closures.
