Shoeburyness Pool temporary closure
The pool at Shoeburyness Leisure Centre will be temporarily closed from this Monday 21st November to Friday 2nd March, 2012, for major refurbishment.
These essential works will improve the pool side and plant areas of the swimming facilities at the centre in Delaware Road, Shoeburyness.
The pool will benefit from brand new filters, ventilation and pipes to give it a new lease of life.
General repairs, redecoration and new lighting will also help to spruce the centre up to help provide a more pleasant swimming experience.
The last day open for swimming will be Sunday 20th November. However, other areas of the centre will remain open, including the gym and sports halls.
Swimmers are invited to use Belfairs Swim Centre in Fairview Gardens, Leigh, or Southend Swimming and Diving Centre in Eastern Avenue, Southend, during this period.
Southend-on-Sea Borough Council’s Executive Councillor for Culture and Tourism, Councillor Derek Jarvis, said: “Although the centre has to closed for a short time, the improved facilities will be fantastic.
“It is important we all try and keep active and healthy and the better the environment to do that in, the more enjoyable it can be.”
