A man has been charged in connection with an attack by a dog on a seven-year-old boy on an Essex beach.
The boy was out with his grandmother when he was bitten while paddling in the sea at Southend on 5 August last year.
The man, aged 29 and from London, was arrested on Sunday and has been charged with allowing a dog to be dangerously out of control and causing injury.
He has been bailed to appear before magistrates in Southend on 22 February.
The boy suffered 20 wounds to his torso and arms.
