Trip, Trip Hooray! - Adventure Island awarded certificate of Excellence
Southend’s leading visitor attraction, Adventure Island, is celebrating winning yet another award. TripAdvisor, the world’s largest travel website has conferred a Certificate of Excellence on the fun park.
In a letter to Marc Miller, Managing Director of Adventure Island Christine Petersen, President of TripAdvisor for Business, commented: “We’re proud to recognise Adventure Island for earning exceptional traveller ratings over the past year. The Certificate of Excellence honours businesses that consistently earn top ratings from TripAdvisor travellers. With a rating of 4.5, Adventure Island has earned a place among the very best.”
The award is only given to “the most exceptional firms” within TripAdvisor’s worldwide business community and consequently, not only confirm’s Adventure Island’s status within the UK tourist industry but now gives it real presence internationally.
Mr Miller says it all came as something of shock: “We weren’t expecting this at all. The certificate and letter from Ms Petersen arrived in the post, completely out of the blue. That makes it all the more exciting and such a delight to receive. It is also testimony to our excellent customer standards, which come from our superb staff. Over the years we have developed Adventure Island into the UK’s number one free admission fun park and that is down to delivering a truly great visitor experience. Our staff play a crucial role in delivering that, which is why this award is such a wonderful surprise.”
He added: “We will be displaying copies of the certificate throughout the park for all our staff and visitors to see. I would also like to thank TripAdvisor and everyone who has been kind enough to go on www.tripadvisor.co.uk and give us such positive reviews and ratings.”
