Queenscourt Hospice, a charitable organisation providing palliative care for the people of Southport, Formby and West Lancashire
Queenscourt is an independent purpose built Hospice celebrating its fifteenth anniversary of providing specialist palliative care for the communities of Southport, Formby and West Lancashire. Over four thousand local people and their families and carers have now received care or support from our highly skilled and dedicated team of staff and volunteers.
Our wide ranging services are available to all those with serious and life limiting illness in the Southport, area. We combine specialist medical and nursing care together with traditional and complementary therapies within a supportive setting to give individual and holistic care for each patient.
We have a ten-bedded in-patient unit with en-suite facilities for those needing in-patient care. Our Day Therapy Unit is open four days a week offering a wide variety of therapies, activities and treatments. Transport is provided, if required. Our lunches and afternoon teas will tempt even the poorest appetites. Volunteers and donations are needed to keep up this level of care.
The service we provide is completely free of charge to all who need it. It costs in the region of £3500 a day to run this charitable organisation . This does not include the large amount of time and skills that our volunteers freely donate.
Local people, from all over Southport, Formby and West Lancashire, raise most of our funds through donations and by supporting the many events we organise. Without them we would not be able to maintain the high quality of care that our professional clinical team provide.
With continued help and support we are confident that Queenscourt will be open for many years to come, to care for those in the Southport area who might need its special care.
